DIY No Sew Contemporary Lampshades

Hello and Welcome once again!!!!
I would be sharing with you, how I made this No-sew Ribbon Lampshade
with a contemporary dual look......
This was a quick makeover for my dreary old plain lamps.....

Contemporary Lampshade

This is how my lamp originally looked.......
I have two of these, one on either side of the bed......
It really looked nice on my bedside tables, but after using it for more
than a year, I got bored of its plain look.....
I decided to revamp the look of our bedroom.......
And, decided to begin with the Lampshades :)

Plain Lamp Base

I decided to make a Contemporary Dual Look Lamp.......
The main reason for this decision was that, I have two comforters
one black and white, and the other a dark red......
I wanted the look of the lampshades to go with both my beddings......

I used Black Satin ribbons and hot glued them to the lamp in the following
Criss-cross pattern on two opposite sides of the lamp.........

No Sew Ribbon Lampshade

On the remaining two opposite sides, I just glued them vertically........
The only important tip here is to space the ribbons perfectly.....
A little bit here or there can have distortions in the design.....
It helps to mark the spacings before you start gluing the ribbons.....

Then, I glued Red Satin Ribbons vertically between the vertical Black Ribbons......
This is how the finished Lampshades look.......

And here is the other side.......

This is how the Lamp looks lighted up.......
This is the matching look for my Red comforter :)

And, this is the look for my Black and White comforter.... minus the comforter ;)
Honestly, I got lazy....and didn't change the comforter for the photo :)

DIY Lampshade

These Contemporary Lamps sure do brighten up my bedroom......
I really love the way they turned out........
It was one of the most satisfying DIY project ever!!!!
Hope you liked them too......

Krishna- Bejeweled Artwork

Hello.....
Here, I have a Bejeweled Art done on Krishna....the most loved Indian god....
This type of art is also known as "Shringar Art" in India.....
"Shringar" literally means "Make- up and Jewelry Adornment".
I have used a 16 x 20 Poster print of Krishna and used mixed media for this artwork....
I have individually stuck each and every bead and rhinestone with my own hands....
The "Murli" or the "Flute" is hand- moulded too......
The peacock feather on the crown is real too.....
This is completely a 3D artwork....

This is how, the Framed Artwork looks......

Shringar Artwork- Krishna

It took me a month (3 hrs/day) to finish this artwork......
It was a painstaking job, but the hard work did finally pay.....
The final result blew my brains away.....
It was beyond my own expectations.......
I was making this artwork for my sister's house-warming.....
She loved it so much that it is now, the Focal Wall art in
her Living room feature wall.....

This and That !!!

Today, I was just browsing through my old photos.....and look what I found!!!!
I didn't even remember I had these photos!!!!!
These are some things I made quite some time back.....
I had totally forgotten about them.....I was just uploading what
I was making recently......
I think I should keep digging into my old photos often.....
The reason I put all these photos together because, I did not have the
'in- progress' pictures.....
Here are some things I made......
Look, Enjoy and have Fun!!!!

This is a coffee table I decorated for my sons 3rd birthday....We cut a
cake on this table :)

This is how I used candles on the cake (Cake Topper) for the same birthday......
Yes, It was a Spiderman theme.......
I just use one of my sons toy figurine in front of the candles......
My son loved it!!!!

This is made on a refrigerator door using a Sticker Making Kit from
Fevicryl (India)...I think this product is discontinued now......
I made this about 6 years back, and it still looks like new :)

Sticker Art

This was the First Floral Arrangement I did during a festival at home....
It turned out to be gorgeous........I had never thought I could do this....

This is a glass votive holder I had made using glass colors......

This is a vertical Note-Pad that I made.....
It is covered with textured paper and I have made a freehand design of
a necklace on it.....The photo is not so good, as my camera was really
not a good one :(

Decorative Note- Pad

This is a pot lamp I made during Diwali a few years back.....
Usually, its filled with wax and turned into a candle, but I preferred to
keep it empty and as a show piece at that time.......

These are a few clips and a ring I made using floral wire and nylon stockings.....
I gifted them to my little girl-friends :)

This is a vase I painted....I had to show a sample for an order and I used this
vase.....I gave the vase a silver base coat and then I painted 3 different motifs
on the same vase.....

This is a Madhubani border on the vase......
