Here is a 16x20 canvas painting of her, made for a very sweet little
friend of mine.
Her name is Sammie and she is crazy about Ariel.

DIY Designer Tribal Wall Clock- Warli in Madhubani Style

Warli in Madhubani Style
There are some days when you just want to do something thats really not your everyday type of work......
I had one such day today....and I am glad I did :)
I had bought a wall clock which was lying around for quite some time.....
Today, I decided to dress up this clock......

I wanted the clock to look chic, and at at the same time a little tribal.....
So I thought, what better than Warli or Madhubani style ???
But, I just couldn't make up my mind on which style to use....
After much thought, I decided to do both.....Warli in Madhubani Style!!!!

I geared up with permanent markers this time...
First, I dismantled the clock and then removed its glass and cover....
The initial outline in Warli style was done freehand with a black marker.....

Then I filled up the design in Madhubani style with colored markers.....

After finishing the coloring part, I decided to add a little fun element.......
Do you see a little girl running around, just after the number '1' ???
Yes....There she is !!!
I glued a small cut-out of a Warli girl on the 'seconds' hand......
Now, she runs all the time :)

Anyways, after it was all nice and dry.....I put on the glass and the cover back on the clock......

Finally, I painted a Madhubani border on the outer rim of the cover, and my
designer wall- clock was ready !!!
This is how it looks on the wall ....

Madhubani Painting....Birds in Love

Madhubani Painting

Hi and welcome to my post on Madhubani Painting.....
Madhubani painting or Mithila painting is a style of Indian Painting, practiced in the Mithila region of Bihar state.
Madhubani painting has been done traditionally by the women women of villages around the present town of Madhubani (the literal meaning of which is forests of honey) and other areas of  Mithila.
Madhubani Painting is characterized by eye-catching geometrical patterns.
The paintings were traditionally done on freshly plastered mud walls and floors of huts with rice powder, but now they are also done on cloth, hand-made paper and canvas with a variety of colors.

I have used a traditional Madhubani design for my painting....
This painting is made on Paper (12"x16"), with poster colors......
Here, the vibrancy of the colors and the geometric  patterns looks very refreshing to the eye.....
Planning to make some more of these......
Hope you enjoyed the post....
I can make a custom painting for you too....

DIY Denim Painting

Denim Painting

Hi...Today i would like to show you the pair of jeans that i painted for my niece.....
My cute little niece is a tomboy who loves flowers, so while thinking of a gift for her, i narrowed down to painting flowers on her jeans!! :)

I grabbed my bottles of fabric colors, armed myself with brushes and got down to work......I started working freehand directly on the jeans.....The flowers bloomed first followed by the branches and then those teensy- weeny leaves........Then came out my 3d outliners......I am so in love with 3d outliners that they feature in most of my works!! The tiny blue flowers and the floral definitions were done last with the outliners....
The whole piece turned out cuter than i expected.....and the best part of it.....my niece totally adored it!!
Hope you like it too :)
