Greeting Cards

Hi there.....
Welcome to my post on greeting cards.......
I had made some cards with my son,  for his school party, which I would like to share with you....
These are cute little cards, and me and my son had lots of fun making them....
We used construction paper, foam sheets, glitter foam sheets, felt, 3d glitter, sequins, rhinestones etc and played around with scissors and different types of punches....
My sons classmates just loved these cards......
Hope you loved them too :))

Kalamkari on Wood

Kalamkari on Wood
Kalamkari is a persian word formed by 'Kalam' (pen) and 'Kari'(drawing) which means drawing with a pen....Kalamkari is a traditional Indian art form originating in Andhra Pradesh.....Traditionally the drawings were done with a bamboo pen on cloth using natural dyes.....The pictures drawn in Kalamkari usually consisted of  Gods and Godessess, drawn in very intricate patterns.....
I have used a traditional design on a square wooden tray, which i painted using brushes and acrylic colors instead of a bamboo pen....
The deity forms in the center are traditional designs but the framework temple pattern around the deities is my own design!!
This painting took quite some time to make because of the intricacy of the design.....The most difficult part was the fine detailing which took a lot of time and effort....but the fruit of my labour made me forget my fatigue :)
After finishing the painting inside I finished the borders of the tray using acrylic color- gold to give it a framed look......Last but not the least I gave it two coats of varnish to protect the colors and the wood.....Now it doubles up as a wall- art frame and a serving tray too !!!
Hope you like it as much as I do :))

One Stroke Painting on Envelopes

Hi there....
Welcome to my post on one stroke painting.....

One-Stroke Painting on Envelopes
One Stroke Painting involves loading your brush with two or more colors simultaneously, and completing a part of a design in a single stroke......Though it looks simple, it takes a lot of practice to get those strokes correct!!
This art is quite popular nowadays and has stalwarts like Donna Dewberry and Luz Angela making it more famous each passing day.....
I wanted to work on a small scale with mini one strokes, so I chose these pretty envelopes made out of handmade paper......They look classy and are great for gifting during Diwali or weddings....
I have made use of acrylic colors here....
Each envelope has a different flower design, which means that all the strokes are different....
I loved the way they turned out....hope you like them too... :)
Presenting the set of 6 that i completed today.......
